There's more to making reliable backups than just copying some files, and Backup To DVD/CD/Flash and Backup Made Simple will do the job right. Here are a few of the ways they will give you a backup you can rely on if you ever need it:
Unlike many companies these days, we take customer service very seriously. We answer every single email, almost always the same day, and the response will be well informed and helpful. If you have a complicated problem, or just a long list of simple questions, we'll stick with you until you're satisfied.
Yes, we're nice people and we like to take care of our customers, but it's also enlightened self interest: Given the poor quality of customer service prevalent today, providing top notch service gives us a competitive edge. Every time we exceed a customer's expectations, particularly on the subject of service, that customer becomes a potential evangelist for us. We know this happens, because many people tell us they found out about us from referrals.
Backup media are not indestructible, and can sometimes degrade over time. Our software can read a backup from end to end and analyze the contents without actually doing a restore, to prove that it is still usable. This is particularly valuable with older backups, or when you upgrade to new hardware, for example a new DVD/CD writer.
Many backup programs don't deal well with changes to your folder structure, like adding, moving or renaming folders. Our software adapts automatically, so you don't have to remember to do anything. If you add a new folder in an area that is already backed up, the new folder will automatically be backed up too. Same if you rename a folder, and depending on where you move a folder (you may move it to a folder that you don't currently back up) even when you move it.
Our Backup Plan Wizard has many features to help you find all the files on your computer you need to save. There are typically thousands of folders on a computer, and some programs stash their data in hard to find places.
With our Backup Plan technology, once you've designed a backup you save all the details as a Backup Plan. The next time you want to make that backup again, just select the plan. No wondering or worrying about which folders you saved last time, where everything is on your computer, etc.
With our ability to find and save recently modified files, you can make backups small enough to fit on one disc no matter how big your hard drive is. A one disc backup with recent changes is a lot easier and faster to make than a ten disc backup of everything, so you'll be much more likely to make regular backups. Most of the stuff on your hard drive never changes, so why back it all up each time?
Our software has been in use around the world for 5 years, so you know it's been well tested and you can rely on it to work.
A backup program is only as good as the data you can restore from it, and one size of restore does not fit all. Depending on why you are restoring you will want to do it differently, and our software gives you the flexibility to do what you need. If you are replacing a few lost files, you need the ability to restore those files selectively. You don't want to replace everything on your hard drive, or even in a specific folder. If you are retrieving an old version of a document for review, you don't want to replace the current version. If you're restoring from a backup you're probably already stressed because you've lost something, so you don't need the challenge of trying to work around an inflexible restore program.
Restoring is inherently a potentially destructive operation - you need the ability to replace large numbers of files on your hard drive with older files from a backup. Our software protects you from mistakes, because by default it will not replace existing files. You have to explicitly select an option saying that is your intention.
Some of these features, like adapting to reorganized folder structures, are available only in Backup To DVD/CD/Flash and Backup Made Simple. Most backup programs can make copies of files, but only our software helps and protects you in all the ways described above. Backup To DVD/CD/Flash and Backup Made Simple solve the whole problem, and give you the peace of mind that if (when!) something bad happens, you won't lose anything and you'll be back in business as fast as possible.
